THEATRE POLICIES

Alcohol Management

For most events at The Chicago Theatre, alcoholic beverages are available for purchase. The Chicago Theatre staff is trained in the nationally recognized T.E.A.M. (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management) Training program for responsible alcohol management. Alcohol sales will be limited to up to two alcoholic beverages per customer per transaction. All guests may be required to show ID to purchase alcohol. Guests are not permitted to bring in alcoholic beverages from outside and may not leave with alcohol purchased inside The Chicago Theatre. Management reserves the right to refuse the sale of alcohol to any guest.

Please be aware that it is the policy of The Madison Square Garden Company to require all guests who appear to be forty (40) years of age or younger to present a valid form of ID with proof of age in order to purchase alcoholic beverages at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, The Beacon Theatre or The Chicago Theatre.

Pursuant to applicable State law , we accept only the following forms of identification:

    •    A valid driver’s license or non-driver identification card issued by the United States Government, a State Government, Commonwealth, Possession or Territory of the United States or a Provincial Government of Canada (except Canadian ID other than a valid passport will not be accepted at the Chicago Theatre)

    •    A valid passport

    •    A valid U.S. military ID

Bag Check

For the comfort, safety and security of all patrons, backpacks and other large bags are not allowed in to the auditorium. All such items must be checked. Smaller purses are allowed into the auditorium. Coats and bags can be checked for $2 per item.

Cameras and Recording Devices

Video cameras, monopods, tripods, audio recording devices and cameras with telephoto lenses, including SLR's, are not permitted inside The Chicago Theatre at any time.  This policy is strictly enforced.  You may bring in a disposable or 35mm camera (with no zoom or telephoto lens), however, for some events, cameras of any type and/or flash photography may be prohibited.

Smoking

By law, smoking in all areas of The Chicago Theatre is prohibited. You may smoke outside the theatre building: your ticket must be scanned out for re-entry into the theatre.

Refreshments

The Chicago Theatre offers a full selection of premium liquors, wines, beer, juice, bottled water, soft drinks and snacks. Our full service bars are open prior to every performance and during all intermissions.

The policy for taking food or beverage into the auditorium may vary from show to show. Please ask your bartender or an usher about the evening's policy. Outside food and beverages are not allowed into the theatre.

Late Seating

Ushers will heed the artists' requirements, and will time late seating to minimize disruption to the theatre experience of patrons who are already seated for a performance.
