About the Show

When Mumford and Sons released their first EP in London, it sold out immediately and people fell in love with their enigmatic music. They were soon touring all around the United Kingdom and were selling out shows left and right, and only enhanced the crave for more.

Ben Lovett (vocals, keyboard, drums, and accordian) says, ‘We don’t really know what to do with ourselves when we’re back in London. It feels uneasy, unnatural even, not to be on a bus going somewhere.”

After the success of their second EP, Love Your Ground, which features their hit "Little Lion Man", they decided to produce a full-fledged album Sigh No More, which hit the charts at 11 quickly after its debut.  In 2012, Mumford and Sons won the prestigious UK Brit Award for Best Album for Sigh No More, as well as a nomination for the Mercury Prize in 2010. Mumford and Sons was soon recognized outside of the UK and managed to snag two Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Rock Song; They also exceeded expectations by selling over 4 millioin copies to this date.

Come join Mumford and Sons at The Chicago Theatre on August 16, with special guest Dawes, to celebrate "40 Years of XRT"
