Widespread Panic has announced dates for their summer tour, tagged "The Dirty Side Down Tour," and will include a three night run at The Chicago Theatre on July 15, 16 & 17.
Dirty Side Down is the title of the Widespread Panic's 11th studio album, which is set for a May 25th release on ATO Records. The 12 songs on the album feature the band in top form in both their songwriting and performances. Their eclectic blend of rock, jazz and blues are felt throughout the album, along with darker nuances, as heard on the epic opening track "Saint Ex." Dirty Side Down was produced by John Keane along with Widespread Panic, and recorded in his Athens, GA studio.
2011 will mark the 25th Anniversary of Widespread Panic, and they show no signs of slowing down. Panic continues to be one of the top touring acts in the country, playing to packed houses and setting attendance records. Panic's live performances have become legendary and the symbiotic relationship between the artist and their fans is something to behold.
Dates in Boise, Chicago, Boston, Knoxville and Charlotte will feature the 'Feeding People Through Music' Food Drives, where fans will be able to make donations to the local area food banks at the venue. For more information on the program, visit WidespreadPanic.com.
